On December 7, 2019, our team from Seidner’s Collision Centers (SCC) was watching proudly during the Habitat for Humanity Celebration in Fullerton. The Orange County chapter of the non-profit and employees from the Auto Club of Southern California were there to present three families with new homes. Working alongside volunteers, these three families had helped to build the new single-family homes over the last nine months.
We were on site because there was an additional surprise waiting for each of the three families—a car. One of these vehicles, a 2017 Toyota Camry, was donated by the Auto Club and restored by Seidner’s.
The Auto Club selected SCC specifically for this project—to bring a damaged vehicle back to its pre-accident condition. Seidner’s has worked with the Auto Club, restoring vehicles for local non-profit organizations, but this was our first project for Habitat for Humanity.
The Auto Club located a 2017 Toyota Camry to donate and sent it to Seidner’s for restoration. We received it in late July and completed the restoration mid-September. The Camry was a great little car, and our job was to bring it back to its pre-accident condition. Credit for the restoration work belongs to our Perris and Duarte locations.
As part of its Restored for GoodTM program, Seidner’s has gifted 15 vehicles to Southern California non-profits. We take donated vehicles and restore them to their pre-accident condition. Our program started with a request from a San Gabriel Valley women’s shelter in need of a vehicle for transportation. We located and restored a van and donated it to the shelter. That was over 15 years ago.
Today, we’re proud to support the mission of Habitat for Humanity OC, alongside our partners at the Auto Club. And we hope the recipient of the Camry enjoys their car!
